Frequently asked questions after the entrance test result has been announced

Question 1: Now that my ward has cleared the entrance test, what procedures does she/ he have to follow?
Answer 1:

  1. Please call the Srishti Office to find out the date your interview and portfolio review will be held.
  2. Please confirm whether you will be attending the interview and portfolio review at Srishti campus, Bangalore before 22nd April, 2010.
  3. Get your portfolio ready using the guidelines mentioned at the end of this page.
  4. On the date scheduled for your Interview and Portfolio Review, please be present at 8.30am at the Srishti Bangalore campus for registration. The group activities start at 9:00am sharp, and the individual interview and portfolio begins at 10:30am, the schedule will be displayed at 10:15am. Please be prepared to wait until your turn comes.

Question 2: Are there any additional documents that candidates need to bring?
Answer 2: Yes, there are. Candidates must bring the following original documents along with the portfolio and a copy of the same should be given to the Srishti Office when you are attending the portfolio review and the interview between 3rd and 6th May 2010.

  1. Original 12th Grade (Plus Two) mark sheets or latest study mark sheets
    plus a copy of the mark sheets.
  2. Copy of transfer certificate

Question 3: How does one reach Srishti?

Question 4: Are parents and guardians allowed to wait in the school premises while the interviews are going on?
Answer 4: Parents and guardians may wait on campus while the interviews and portfolio reviews are being conducted. They are also free to leave the campus and return later.

Question 5: Will it be possible to meet with some faculty when parents bring their ward for the interview?
Answer 5: There will be a Question and Answer session for parents and guardians. The schedule for this will be indicated when you bring your ward for the portfolio review and interview.

Question 6: When will the interview results be announced?
Answer 6: May 10th 2010 on the Srishti website.

Question 7: How does one organize paying guest accommodation for the ward?
Answer 7: When you come for the portfolio review and interview, at the
registration counter you will be given an information sheet with a list of available
PG accommodation, tariff and facilities. These PGs will exclusively accommodate
Srishti students in and around Yelahanka New Town.

Question 8: If the ward is staying in the city, how does she / he commute to and from school?
Answer 8: The school has chartered a bus from BMTC (Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation), to and from Srishti to run on a fixed route.

PORTFOLIO GUIDELINES:

Your portfolio enables us to assess your talent, interest, and motivation and you are required to present it when called for the review/interview.

Your portfolio must necessarily contain all the following work:

  1. Drawing of an incandescent bulb (not in lit condition). This should be a black and white (pencil or charcoal) drawing.
  2. Landscape/cityscape from real life ( done by looking at real space rather than from photograph/picture)
  3. A subject of your own choice that demonstrates your creativity done in any medium on a sheet of white paper measuring 16"X 20".
  4. Selected samples of creative work that you would like to share with us (a minimum of 10 work samples)
    If some of your work is in digital media (photography, film, animation, web pages, flash games, etc) you may bring it in a digital format on a CD/DVD/Pen drive. Ensure that your CD/DVD/Pen drive is in working condition and that the files can be opened for review.
  5. You are also advised to bring along certificates/work that give evidence of your interest, passion or beliefs. These may not necessarily be related to art.

Each work must be presented in its original state.
You must ensure that all the work you present in your portfolio is done by you personally. Any attempt at plagiarism, (to pass off somebody else's work as your own) will result in disqualification. The review panel may also test your skill level on the spot if necessary.
