The Advanced Diploma in Art and Design Practice offers a one-year specialization in Introduction to Gallery Practice. The program is a joint collaboration between Srishti and Tasveer, Bangalore.
The Advanced Diploma in Art and Design Practice with a specialization in Gallery Practice. explores different trends in photography and contemporary gallery practices. It is a full-time independent study program requiring highly motivated participants and the ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment in order to engage with the learning opportunities offered by the program.
Application Details
Applicants are expected to hold an undergraduate degree or its equivalent. Applicants who have substantial and significant experiential learning, a portfolio of work and written evidence demonstrating the meeting of graduate qualities may also be considered.
30th June, 2011 is the last date for receiving applications for the Academic year 2011-2012. The program has a rolling admissions process and applications received after this date will be considered for the next academic session.
Curriculum Content
The Advanced Diploma in Art and Design Practice with a specialization in Gallery Practice offers the opportunity for engagement and learning through a series of interactions at the gallery site. Participants in this program will be introduced to different trends in photography and contemporary gallery practice through exhibitions and photography shows held at the gallery. By participating in seminars and workshops led by the research interests of Srishti faculty and invited practitioners, participants will be able to explore areas of enquiry in gallery exhibition, display and promotion, current directions in photography practices, contextual studies and conceptual work seeking to extend dimensions of current gallery practice.
