Who We Are

Heads of Departments

P. John Mathew. John has been with Srishti since its inception and has played a lead role in its growth. He heads Industrial Design at Srishti, the broad umbrella within which fall Product & Interface Design, Furniture and Interior Design and Textile Design. A furniture designer by profession, he has expertise in exhibition and retail design, interiors and accessories. John’s interests are in material combinations and new technologies. He was instrumental in establishing the Design Action Group as a partner and StudioLine and Dovetail Furniture Pvt. Ltd. as Founder and Managing Director. He has a Diploma in Industrial Design (Furniture) from the National Institute of Design.

Kumkum Nadig. Kumkum heads Visual Communication Design. She has an undergraduate degree in Architecture, M. Des. in Industrial Design (IDC, IIT Bombay), and, MFA in Graphic Design (Cranbrook Academy of Art, USA). With over 20 years of design experience and 10 years of teaching experience in India and Canada, she has worked as a graphic designer in the USA and the Netherlands, currently having her own design firm, Kena Design, Bangalore, India. Since 2005 Kumkum has been an active member of Guerilla Studios, co-conducting workshops in collaborative mixed-media art for three consecutive years, at SIGGRAPH, USA.

At present Kumkum’s interests lie in exploring and documenting vernacular Indian Typographic communication forms. Kumkum is also passionate about mixed media prints and likes to experiment with combining and integrating digital as well as traditional printmaking practices.

Michael Joseph. Michael is Coordinator of the Digital Video Production program in Srishti. He has a Postgraduate Diploma in Cinema, specializing in Film Direction, from the Film & Television Institute of India, Pune. He has worked extensively in the field of medical education with special emphasis on the bio-medical and psychosocial aspects of Hansen’s Disease. It was here that he began his experiments with using small format video in a participatory approach with health workers and school children. As a freelance filmmaker Michael has made product, training, corporate, advertisement and documentary films for Escorts, TVS, Larsen and Toubro, Pricol and Café Coffee Day. He heads the Digital Video Programme at Srishti. The programme has a distinct lineage to traditional cinema but moves into a more experimental space exploring the myriad avatars of the moving image.

Naga Nandini. Nandini, Head of Product & Interface Design, is a product designer with 20 years of experience. She has worked with craft communities in eastern India for many years, where she helped set up artisan groups. She has also worked on communication material for craft groups and non-profits, like websites, catalogues and print material, also worked and participated in the idea of Fair Trade for several years now.

Swati Unakar. Swati is a textile design graduate from NID, Ahmedabad. She has been with Srishti since 1999. She is the Coordinator for Textile Design. She also runs a design studio where she works with handloom weavers to create home & fashion accessories. Through her studio practice she addresses issues of waste generated by the garment industries in Bangalore to create interesting home accessory products. Prior to Srishti, she taught at the National Institute of Fashion Technology, Bangalore. Her past experience includes working as a designer with leading brands like The Bombay Store, Ritu Kumar’s chain of boutiques and has also worked with state-of-the-art weaving technology at Himatsingka Seide Ltd. She has worked closely with crafts persons for design development in the traditional handloom weaving styles of Orissa and West Bengal and with several other craft groups in Northern Karnataka as well as Kutch, Gujarat. She is interested in the area of Social design & works with rural artisans to help create sustainable livelihoods through craft practices.

Vijaya Sarathi. Vijaya Sarathi heads the Animation & Visual Effects Department at Srishti. He has more than 10 years experience in the animation industry. He has worked as an animation professional with leading studios: Prasad Video Digital, JadooWorks animation studio, and Anirights Infomedia as a Senior Rigging Executive. Vijay has also worked with Maya Academy Of Advanced Cinematic's & American College, Dubai, UAE, as an Associate Trainer & Instructor for 3D-Animation. During his production career, Vijay had contributed to technical and creative requirements for several projects which includes Higgly Town Heroes, a television series for pre-school children. It comprised of 26 episodes, each 22 minutes long. The series was produced for HappyNest Inc. and aired on Playhouse Disney Primetime. Other projects include Shrek - pilot short for PDI- DreamWorks; Pet Aliens – pilot short for Mike Young Productions; Max and The Mechanicals for Mike Young Productions; Fire House Tales for Warner Bros.; Babe – the pilot short movie for Universal Studios. Sonic for Sony Entertainment, and; Award Winning Animated TV Series Little Krishna for BIG Animation.

Teaching Faculty

Agnishikha Choudhuri. Shikha is faculty in the Furniture & Interior Design department. With an M.S. in Interior Design from Eastern Michigan University, her research interests include urban waste management and design history. Prior to joining Srishti, she has ten years of experience in a variety of jobs including personal transformation programmes, film production, faculty development and teaching both design and literature. She also holds an M.A. in Literature from Shreemati Nathibai Damodar Thackersey Women's University (1997).

Ajai Narendran had his initial education and training in Mathematics, Physics and Avionics engineering. After 2 years with the Aviation industry he entered the IT domain and was with Amrita University main campus, Coimbatore for 9 years.Here he founded and headed the Knowledge Management group, where he conceptualized and executed “Project Vidya” which now serves as the primary digital resource base for the university spread across 5 campuses in South India, linked by the ISRO-EduSat network. Project Vidya has been recommended by the IT Ministry-UGC-NAAC-AICTE as a replicable model for many Indian universities. His interdisciplinary interests found a fertile ground in the study of ‘Complexity Science’, simulation, modelling and its application to various areas. At Srishti he works primarily in the area of Knowledge Management and teaches courses requiring his interest areas.

Anitha Santhanam. Anitha is currently an artist-in-residence at the Srishti School of Arts, Design and Technology. She completed her training in Physical Theatre from LISPA London in 2010, on the Charles Wallace Scholarship. Her performing experience includes Indian contemporary dance and physical theatre both solo and group performances. Her teaching and research interests include movement and theatre, arts-in-education and embodied learning. In London, Anitha also trained at ARTIS, a company integrating performing arts into education, and at JABADAO on developmental movement play.

Ann Thomas. Ann is part of the marketing, PR and communications department of Srishti. She is a communications professional with a Masters degree in Audio Visual Communications from Convergence Institute of Mass Media and IT studies and a Bachelors degree from Christ College. Prior to joining Srishti, she has 6 years of experience in a variety of jobs including reality television, film production, advertising and even school management. She also holds a Bachelors degree in Education from Bangalore University.

Danika Cooper. Danika Cooper teaches in the Foundations Studies department. Her design background lies in architecture, art history and criticism, and bookmaking. Prior to teaching at Srishti, she worked for Talati & Panthaky Architects in Bombay developing design solutions for high-end residential and commercial spaces. Her current interests are in locating India's design community in the continuously-evolving sociopolitical landscape of a globalized world.

Deepak Srinivasan. Deepak Srinivasan is an artist, media practitioner, researcher and pedagogue, currently a core member of Maraa, a media & arts collective based in Bangalore and faculty at Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore. After a BSc. in environmental sciences (St Joseph’s College of Arts and Sciences, Bangalore) and an MS in neurobiology (Rutgers University, New Jersey), his interests shifted to exploring the role of media & arts as methods for transdisciplinary inquiry. Since 2005, he has been training in performing arts and community theatre with prominent theatre practitioners like Probir Guha of Alternative Living theatre, Kolkata and Dr. Ravi Varma (Performing Arts dept, Pondicherry University). Deepak’s experience in the audio medium comes from his days as content developer with Worldspace Satellite Radio. Community art and media have become an emerging focus and through this inquiry Deepak has been trying to juxtapose the social, cultural and psychological development to better understand emerging political negotiations and identities.

Elizabeth Jacob Sandvik. At Srishti, works with Change, Chaos and Systems thinking for evolving a language of Design for Sustainability. She is an Industrial Designer from NID Ahmadabad, and a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer. She has 24 years of experience both in India and Europe with Industrial design, Internet and web administration, Education, Investigative Future studies and Entrepreneurship. She has represented Norway for an International 4 yr research seminar project “Finns Norden i 2020 ?” led by CIFS (Copenhagen Institute for Future studies) and SIU (Statens Industri for Utvikling) spanning the 5 countries of Norden, The outcome of this project was a presentation for the EU commission in Brussels and a Future report published under the auspices of CIFS.Worked as the CIO (Chief Information Officer) at Westerdals School of Communication Oslo and visiting faculty at School of Planning and Architecture (SPA ),Delhi-Masters programme in Industrial Design .Worked on development of Curriculum for Service design Under Grad program for Ambedkar University,Delhi.

Dr. Indira Chowdhury. Dr. Indira Chowdhury. Indira Chowdhury is at present a Scholar-in-Residence who has just initiated the Center for Public History at Srishti. Formerly professor of English at Jadavpur University, Kolkata, she has a PhD in History from the School of Oriental and African Studies, London. Her book, "The Frail Hero and Virile History", (Oxford University Press, 1998) was awarded the Tagore Prize in 2001. She set up the archives of the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research in Mumbai and the archives of the Naadi Foundation and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories, both in Hyderabad. She started one of the earliest archival consultancy services in India called Archival resources for Contemporary History (ARCH) in 2006, now relocated to Srishti. Her book "A Masterful Spirit: Homi Bhabha 1909-1966" (Penguin) was released by APJ Abdul Kalam in June 2010.

Dr. Jyothsna Belliappa. Jyothsna teaches courses on Qualitative Research Methods and Indian Sociology across the Foundation Studies, Professional Diploma and Advanced Diploma Programs. Her doctoral research, which was completed at the Centre for Women’s Studies, University of York, 2009, examined how women employed in India’s knowledge economy negotiate the consequences of globalization in their personal and professional lives. Her research interests include the sociology of personal life, globalization, modernity, the Indian middle classes and women in the workplace. She is currently working on a book titled Gender, Class and Modernity in India to be published by Palgrave Macmillan. An experienced qualitative researcher, Jyothsna has undertaken research projects for multinational corporations such as Citibank and Unilever and for The United Nations World Food Programme.

Kalpana Tanwar. Kalpana joined Srishti in 2010 and is instrumental in introducing process-oriented psychology into art and design education. She has been exploring how process-oriented psychology can contribute to creativity. Kalpana teaches basic self-awareness and teamwork skills and techniques, emphasizing the importance of observation of 'the other' and 'the self'. Her training as a psychotherapist and facilitator, with groups and in conflict situations, makes her an important team member at Srishti.

Kalpana holds a Diploma in Process Work, from Portland, Oregon, USA (2008); her thesis was about teaching psychology through stories. Kalpana is also a graduate of the Tata Institute of Social Sciences, Mumbai, India, and has a Post Graduate Certificate in Counselling Therapy from Xavier Institute of Communication.

Kumar KJ. Kumar is a Textile Technologist and a post-graduate certification in Behavioural Sciences Training. He has over 20 years of experience with expertise extending to research in design & development, training on behavioural & textile product modules; technical design and merchandizing.

Kumar has taught at the NID, Ahmedabad, and the Indo American Society, Mumbai, and has been an entrepreneur and freelance designer. He has corporate exposure with organizations like Himatsingka Seide, Peter England Brand and the handloom sector. He has also conducted market surveys & research in various European countries and South East Asia.

He has been trained exhaustively on personal & professional excellence encompassing the twin disciplines of ‘mindset management’ & ‘skill sets enhancement’. He has trained more than 9,000 people in various fields and compered for large audiences. Apart from his passion for textiles & education, his other interests include training and adventure sports

Lloyd Roberts. Lloyd Robert is an artist, writer and musician with a penchant for animation, theatre and film making, he has 12 years of advertising experience, most recently with Ogilvy & Mather, where he worked with client companies like Titan Industries, WelcomGroup and Asian Paints. In 1999 he founded Wizworks Multimedia Limited, which introduced the High Definition (HD) format in India, with a complete set-up for film and TV production and post-production. The Wizworks 2D and 3D animation department has worked on feature films, TV commercials, corporate films and music videos. Lloyd teaches in the Foundation Studies Program.

Manasee Jog. Manasee is a Graphic Designer/Illustrator with a Masters degree from the
University of Arts, London. She is part of the Visual Communication Department. Prior to Srishti, Manasee has worked for 13 years in the corporate and IT industry with companies like Titan and Madura Garments in various roles like Retail and Graphic Designer. Previously, she was the Art Director for Rave Magazine. In her last job at Infosys Technologies,she worked extensively with IT clients on Web and UI based projects. Manasee is also a keen interior decorator and consultant. Her passions include photography, package designing, creating graphic novellas, paper-making, and pottery-making.

Manjari Singh. Manjari Singh joined Srishti in early 2011 as the Coordinator for CERTAD (Centre for Education, Research, Training and Development). She has a Ph.D in Educational Psychology with a specific focus on Learning, Cognition and Instruction from Indiana University, Bloomington, USA. She also has a Bachelor of Education from Annamalai University and a Masters’ degree in Clinical Psychology from Bangalore University, India.

Manjari has been involved in educational research and practice within elementary-secondary schools and higher education. Her research work has been primarily qualitative and included ethnographic studies of teaching and learning. Her educational practice has included teaching and counselling students within K-12 system in India, teaching undergraduate students in the United States, mentoring and supervising pre-service teachers, as well as contributing to professional development workshops and programs for practicing teachers.

Manjari’s focus is on fostering educational practices that are learner-centered, developmentally appropriate and stimulating and which promote gender equity and student empowerment. She is interested in the design, development, implementation, and evaluation of educational programs and processes that foster quality learning among children enrolled in school or non-formal educational programs, and, in conducting programs and research related to teacher’s professional learning and development.

Manjusha Nair-Joseph. Manjusha has a post-graduate Diploma in Cinema with specialization in Film Editing, from the Film & TV Institute of India, Pune. Her first film ‘Manav’…on the transgender community and the psychosocial aspects of their life had a world premiere at Cinema Du Reel, at Paris in 1990. The film went on to participate in Sakshi , celebrating 25 years of Independent Indian Documentary Bangalore, Munich Docu Film Fest and the Neubrandenberg Festival, Germany.

She has over 15 years of experience working in varied capacities as director, conceptualizer, and project- coordinator in multi-hued projects for corporate and image films, travel, promos, and television programs. She has also worked with many social sector organizations creating films for their needs as well as facilitating training workshops. She has participated in educational initiatives with middle and high school children across states to teach Digital Film Making and using film as text to enable language learning. She is passionate about the different uses of video/film as a medium whether to facilitate learning, empowerment or create spaces for dialogue beside the traditional onus of the medium as a form of expression. She is currently faculty in the Digital Video Production Department at Srishti.

Matt Lee. Originally from London, Matt coordinates the Foundation Studies Art & Design Program. Matt has a BA (Hons) Design: Illustration Degree from Plymouth University and has practiced as a freelance illustrator since 2001. Working internationally for various editorial, advertising and publishing clients, he is most well-known for his weekly illustrations for the Financial Times Magazine’s Revolver culture column, as well his contributions to The Guardian Weekend Magazine. Matt has also written articles for various publications on illustration practice, featured in various international books and exhibited his work across London, Germany, Italy and Japan.

Meera Curam. Meera is an artist and a textile designer, with a graduate degree in Visual Arts from Karnataka Chitrakala Parishath. She has studied at the Philadelphia University (formerly Philadelphia college of Textiles and Science) specializing in Textile Design for Print. She is faculty in the Department of Textile Design and also coordinates Core Skills (Foundation Studies).

Prior to Srishti, Meera taught at the JD Institute of Fashion Technology, and was responsible for creating curriculum for the Bachelor’s programme in Fashion Design. She has been visiting faculty teaching Foundation Art, at NIFT, Bangalore, in the Accessories Design Department. Also an artist, her paintings have been exhibited by The State Lalit Kala Academy and the South Central Zone Cultural Centre, Nagpur. She has been working as freelance textile designer creating coordinated collection for printed textiles for both domestic and export market.

Nicolás Grandi. Nicolás Grandi was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is an University
graduate in Cinematography. Artist and researcher with experience in teaching at University, High School level and community oriented projects. He has experience as an independent feature and short film producer, director and screenplay writer. Has worked integrating sculpture, music and performing arts in his educational proposals. Some of his films have been selected in festivals from Poland, Taiwan, Mexico, Argentina, Italy, France, Spain, New York, Cuba, Colombia.

Nupur Sista. Nupur has been an independent Graphic Designer + Illustrator since 1997. On her client list, she has had Artist M.F.Hussain, Accion India, Rave Magazine, G:Corp Builders, Artist K.K.Raghava, Composer Amit Heri and others. Having done her BFA (Bachelor of Fine Art) in Applied Art from Sir J.J. School of Arts in Bombay, she went on to do her MDes (Master of Design in Visual Communication) at IIT, IDC, (Industrial Design Centre) Bombay, but did not complete her course. Nupur worked with Rediffusion DY&R, Bombay, J.Walter Thompson, Bombay and Saatchi & Saatchi, Bombay and finally, Ray & Keshavan in Bangalore. She has worked as Visiting Faculty at Srishti since 2007 and joined as full-time Faculty in June 2010.

Raghavendra Rao. Raghavendra studied painting at the Ken School of Art in Bangalore. He won the fellowship for Painting at Kanoria Centre For Arts, Ahmedabad, which resulted in him being part of a traveling show called ‘Four Young Contemporaries' curated by Rekha Rodwittiya. His work with artist activist C. F. John in conducting workshops for various groups including urban minorities led to a group installation show in Bangalore in 1995 titled 'Silence of Furies and Sorrows, Pages of a Burning City'. In 1997, he was awarded a scholarship to work at Gasteatelier Krone in Switzerland. He has taken part in residencies like Còmhla – International Artists’ Workshop in Scotland, Khoj - International Artists Workshop, Bangalore, PARTage – International Artists’ workshop in Mauritius and ‘Ten Years Ten Artists’ – Residency and group show at Gasteatelier Krone, Switzerland. More recently he had a solo show titled ‘lost and found and lost…’ at Gallery Sumukha.

Partavam Venkata Ramana. Ramana is teaches in the Animation Department at Srishti. and has over 12 years of work experience in various genres of animation. He has been a fundamental force behind conceiving the award winning series “Little Krishna” and yet to be released feature film with the same title. During his tenure with Jadoo Works and Color Chips he worked on some prominent projects which include Animation for “Higgly Town Heroes”, short film “Bombay Dogs”, ad films for Kellogg’s International, Reynolds and Green Mother. He joined Srishti in 2010 and has been instrumental in structuring the 2D animation and visual effects courses. Because of his strong individual style, he has become well-known in the field of concept development, character design and illustration for animation in India.

Ravindranath G. A visual artist, Ravindranath is interested in Creative Arts for development on various fronts and is presently formulating new contemporarily relevant Visual Arts Program. Apart from working on projects, teaching Foundation Studies & at CEMA, he has been in academics and art education for nearly 20 years from designing, setting up and running art curriculum for middle school to research and design of the syllabus for an Undergraduate Program in Crafts Education. He has worked on and guided research programs in Art, Language, Culture and Identity-related topics at the Kannada Research University, Hampi, and has taught several Art and Design courses in design.

Rustam Vania. Rustam is interested in communication design with emphasis on environmental and social contexts. As a graphic designer, illustrator and cartoonist, his focus is in the interface between educational needs and creative communication solutions. He coordinates and conceptualises interdisciplinary courses where the primary pedagogical method is place-based learning (space, place and people) through real life contexts and/or projects. Subjects range from heritage conservation to habitat studies to design in education and ecological design. He has over a decades experience in developing popular creative communication strategies for science, environment and development education. He was the founder editor and designer of Gobar Times, a monthly magazine supplement to Down To Earth, the science and environment fortnightly published by the Centre for Science and Environment (CSE).

Sabina von Kessel. received her degree in Visual Communication from HFBK Hamburg. In recent years she got a degree in pedagogy. She thinks about herself as a Gestalter. Since the German word GESTALT is a general description for the concepts that make unity and variety possible in design, it is concerned with the relationship between the parts and the whole of a composition. She understands the visual communicator as initiator of design processes and design thinking which lead to new ways of perceiving, connecting and understanding our environment, bridging biases in human development, gender and justice.

Her past initiatives connect above mentioned goals with photography, documentary films, exhibition design, print and new media design, working with institutions and NGOs and facilitating young peoples design studies in Germany and India.

Sanjay Morlidhar. Sanjay graduated from N.I.D. with a diploma in visual communication in 1989. Sanjay’s main interest is in Graphic Design & Photography. He has wide ranging experiences in a variety of roles as a visual communicator, with small private publishing firms to giants like the Indian Express News Paper.

Sanjay worked as an Art director for “Graphic Ads, an advertising agency in New Delhi, Image Design Studio in Ahmedabad and Diamond Digital Solutions, Ahmedabad.For a year he was also a Graphic designer with Design Action group, Bangalore. Sanjay also worked in Ahmedabad as a Free lance graphic designer. He has designed and executed Stall Design for exhibitions for the Cadila Group at Kolkatta, Chandigadh & at Banglore in 1996. He is the creator of the ICICI Banks New Identity design while he was at Artistree , an O&M sister concern. At the Nehru Foundation, Ahmedabad, He executed pen and ink illustrations for ‘The Birds of Gujarat Field Manual’.

Sanjay has made himself a person with multi dimensional ability. He has handled various types of projects in graphic design, illustrations, photo journalism and exhibition design. Outdoor Photography, Publishing, Branding, Identity Design are his main interests.He has had a brief design teaching experience in the Foundation Program at the Institute of Architecture, an affiliate of North Gujarat University at Patan, Gujarat (2009).Since 2010, at Srishti, Sanjay has taught in foundation as a co-teacher & Basic Layout Design to 3rd year students and taught Identity Design to 4th year students of Visual Communication independently.

Sashirekha. Sashirekha is a visual artist from Chitrakala Parishat, Bangalore. Her past experience includes working with children as an art educator, and has worked in a toy company designing play mats, children's rooms, and on hand-painted garments. Currently, Sashi works with mixed media using collage, acrylics, and drawings, with various materials like sequins, beads, tin foil.

Srinivasan K. Srinivasan is both faculty and a Research Associate with Project Vision at Srishti. He has completed M.S. in Environmental Science, a PPSE at CERTAD, and an ASCD online course in Multiple Intelligences. Having served as a Geography teacher at Mallya Aditi International School for 3 years, he designed interactive opportunities through the confluences Prakruti and Jagruti, highlighting the need for urban conservation. He has experimented with the TFU model of Harvard through an integrated study at Nandi Hills watershed systems in 2006-07. He served as Coordinator for the CIE program (2008-10) at Indus International School, Hyderabad, and helped set up the department. He taught both MYP and the DP program of the IB Curriculum. Srinivasan conceptualized the Environmental Stewardship program by integrating curricula, and was also instrumental in setting up the “Conservation and Livelihood” program (interventions through Lantana weed for the marginal communities in the Western Ghats), which won a special grant at the Development Marketplace, World Bank. He has co-authored a book at ATREE, Bangalore, on natural resources titled: Bamboos and Rattans of the Western Ghats: funded by IPGRI, APO, Malaysia. He has contributed three sub-chapters for NCERT's New Delhi Class 08 textbook for geography. He has several popular articles on Environmental consciousness and western classical music to his credit.

Sudipto Dasgupta. A product designer, Sudipto has worked in the field of handicraft with NGOs, crafts persons and entrepreneurs for the last 20 years in various capacities that included design, enterprise, marketing, management and consultancy. He is currently fulltime faculty at Srishti teaching in Foundation Studies, Product Design and Furniture & Interiors. His previous experience also includes design and installation of exhibitions, and has represented organizations, including Srishti, at exhibitions, conferences, seminars and trade fairs. Sudipto has an interest in furniture design and web design, which has also emerged from the domain of craft. He is passionately interested in indigenous and appropriate technology, in rural and urban environment.

Dr. Vasanthi Mariadass. Dr. Vasanthi Mariadass has a doctorate in Cinema Studies from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with teaching experience from both US and India. Her specialization is in Film and Literary Theory (including poststructuralism, postmodernism, psychoanalysis, postcolonial studies and feminist studies). Published an essay “Vagabondia: Archiving the Archive” a theoretical piece on Isaac Julien’s film Vagabondia. Her current research is on the works of a German documentary filmmaker Harun Farocki. Her article “Pause the Image” will be published in the journal Studies in Humanities. She is teaching, consulting and researching at Srishti School of Art, Design and Technology. This summer she will be a Research Fellow at The Humboldt University, Berlin.

Violaine Kumbera. Originary from Brittany (France), Violaine first studied sign language and Science of Education, in Paris ( Paris 5-Descartes). She has a degree in Industrial Creation from L’Ensci-Les Ateliers, France. She has worked as a design consultant while in Bangalore. At Srishti, Violaine is the Coordinator of the Transcultural Design Program, a 2-year Advanced Diploma Program in collaboration with L’Ecole de Design de Nantes, France. Violaine has a deep interest in cultural signs - gestures and relationships that people of a culture have with objects, as a designer, as a user, or as a maker. She is also passionate about the hand-made process, particularly texture-related - from jewellery to architecture.

Violaine is a part of “7 High Street” a pluri-disciplinary plateform that comprises designers, architects, urbanists, striving to find a sustainable equilibrium between the physical environment generated by human needs and the environment.
