Eco Pods

Artist: Vishal Rawlley
Facilitator: Veena Krishnakumar

The Eco Pods projects will look at creating ecological awareness through public participation. Students will work on creating floating “Eco Pods” – floating objects made of salvaged items and plants with bioremediation properties to revitalize water. Students will experiment with remote ecology monitoring systems and how to utilize them in the construction of the Eco Pods. They will also work on creating interactive light installations on the floating pods, do hands-on exercises in finding and assembling salvaged items into working, floating models, using digital sensors and inviting public participation on-site and online. The main goal of this project is to add a new icon to the city - that is green, attractive and generate awareness about ecology and conservation. In the process, the students and the participants learn about the city, its ecology, and its people and make them interact.
